GlobalSouth significantly increases the income of small farmers in rural areas, which directly contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 1 (SDG1), especially target 1.1, that aims to eradicate extreme poverty.
We’re lifting farmers and their families out of extreme poverty as they are less likely to live on less than $1.25 a day, which is the benchmark for extreme poverty.
With higher incomes, these farmers can access basic necessities such as food, clean water, shelter, and healthcare, improving their living conditions and reducing their vulnerability to extreme poverty.
At the core of GlobalSouth’s mission lies a profound dedication to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG2).
By utilizing our cold storage facility, we annually rescue more than 3,000 tons of food from waste per site, a direct endorsement of SDG targets 2.1 and 2.6, which prioritize ensuring year-round access to food and advancements in agricultural technology.
Furthermore, our commitment extends to assisting small farmers in more than doubling their harvests and implementing regenerative agricultural practices, directly aligning with SDG targets 2.3 and 2.4, promoting sustainable agricultural productivity and resilience.
Through these concerted efforts, we are dedicated to fostering a thriving agricultural ecosystem that not only bolsters food security but also contributes to the broader sustainability and well-being of our community, in line with our overarching commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals.
At each of our GlobalSouth facilities, we provide an extensive array of technical and vocational training, mentorship initiatives, and certifications to our employees involved in the operations of the cold storage, agricultural processing, and in administrative roles.
Furthermore, we extend these opportunities to our smallholder farmers and their families, directly aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4), especially targets 4.3 and 4.4.

By combining our sustainable operational practices with community-focused efforts, we’re not just aligning with SDG7; we’re championing its core principles and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

GlobalSouth is actively making a meaningful contribution to Sustainable Development Goal 13 (SDG13), with a specific focus on target 13.1.
Our collaboration with local communities and farmer cooperatives is designed to empower them to build resilience and reduce their dependence on factors such as opaque markets, unpredictable weather patterns, not sustainable monoculture practices, and other multifaceted challenges. Eventually, our efforts that include providing training and resources to help these communities adapt to the effects of climate change, ensuring their long-term sustainability and well-being.
